GTI Grading Syllabus.

In the GTI there are a series of exams that test the student in a number of areas. These include the Patterns, Sparring, Breaking/Destruction, Self Defence, Line work and Theory.

The exams, or gradings as they are often called, are done by an outside Examiner from the GTI so as a student you know that you have earned your Belt and Rank.

The exams are usually about Three months apart but there is a set amount of time you have to train before you are eligible to be examined.

The Grading is a very formal occasion and full respect must be shown to the examiner and other Black Belts who are there.

If you have trained hard and learnt your theory there is never anything to worry about at a grading. It is a chance for you to demonstrate what you have learnt and how you have progressed.

Here are the grading criteria for all exams from White Belt to F1st Degree Black Belt.
