In addition Tae Kwon Do builds dynamic tension and makes balanced use of a large number of body muscles. It provides excellent all around exercise and develops coordination and agility. Tae Kwon Do trains students in character, sincerity, effort, etiquette and self-control.

Who may learn Tae Kwon Do? Classes are open to men, women and children as Tae Kwon Do is one of the only true family sports. All can learn and participate together. The degree of progress for any student is based on the individual coordination and attentiveness. Physical fitness is essential for a happy, productive life, and invariably, people who are capable of defending themselves are less troublesome and better citizens.

Braintree Tae Kwon Do is a friendly all inclusive club where the students enjoy themselves while learning a martial art and getting fit. We have classes for adults and children.

Each student takes a series of exams

Each exam is taken by a senior national/international examiner to ensure a consistancy in Tae Kwon Do.
A new belt and a certificate are awarded when the student passes.

Tae Kwon Do is a hughly popular enjoyable sport where students can progress at their own pace. As well as club training there are competitions for those who enjoy sparring as well as many seminars that deal with weapon training, sparring tips from a world Champion and self defence.



Braintree Dragons for Age 5 to 11 ( plus parents)

Adam Thorne is passionate about the benefits that Tae Kwon do training can bring to children. As well as providing overall fitness it can improve a child’s self esteem and confidence. Dragons has a number of awards and a style of teaching that really helps the younger student progress with confidence.

Braintree Dragons provides a style of teaching and learning that aims to:Three kids Tae Kwon Do

* Show the value of setting goals and working towards them
* Show how non-violent techniques in conflict-resolution can be used

There will be a series of badges and awards that the students can achieve along with their normal progression of the belts. We meet between 7pm and 8pm at the Alec Hunter School Gym.

Special needs

Braintree Tae Kwon do is an all inclusive club that welcomes all abilities and needs. Students who have physical, emotional or behavioural needs will be catered for and included within the main stream lessons.
